Inner cv boot replacement and options

2 questions

Is it more work to remove the inner boot with axle in situ vs removing the whole axle?

Why is there 20 different options to replace one? Just the boot, the boot and thin outer piece, the boot with a solid thick out piece. What is the most common replacement for a 77 911?

Youll have to Lay on your back unless you have a high lift.
6 bolts off the inside hub
The large highly torqued nut on the outside and drop the bottom of the shock to clear on removal
Of the shaft. Now everything can be done on the table or vise

When you remove 6 bolts make sure you clean the gunk out of the Allen heads thoroughly so you don’t strip them. Loosen them all a little bit at first instead of removing them one at a time.
