HEADS UP on 3.2 injectors from Carparts.com
This is for anyone looking to buy fuel injectors for '84 - '88 911 models...
Carparts.com sells a SET-REPP314301-6 fuel injector as a "direct fit" and "OE replacement." This could be interpreted as plug & play. They're NOT. Stock Bosch 0280150158 injectors are low impedance. These SET-REPP's are high impedance---they should NOT be swapped in for low impedance injectors without a chip modification.... something Carparts.com fails to mention. Personally, pindle cap config on these SET-REPP jectors bother me. Never got to test spray pattern so this is subjective call. Can see what I'm referring to here: Spin-on fuel filter build for 3.2 As I write this, these SET-REPP injectors go for $154 for a set of 6. Sal Carceller provided me some insights on this FI stuff including option he offers to allow high impedance injectors to work in 3.2. His email: sal.carceller@cox.net. .

Dave... don't recall exact discussion I had with Sal but believe it was---in a nutshell---like Sherwood said... better fuel delivery. Sal's system incorporates a wide band O2 sensor. WBO2 reads more than just "too rich" or "too lean" and so supposedly offers more performance. Whether high impedance injectors are integral to using WBO2... or the other way... I don't know.

I know this is an old thread but I want to add to it. I can confirm the Carparts.com injectors are garbage for our stock 911’s. These are the ones with the green rings on them. The previous owner of my 87 had a so called shop install a set of these before I bought the car. Yes they run but it was pig rich and no amount of adjustment on the idle would make idle without a high, lumpy and sometimes surging idle. I spent months chasing the ICV, vacuum leaks, adjustments, and everything else under the sun.
I found a used set of original Bosch 158’s and sent them to RC injector to have them rebuilt. Installed them last night and it’s unbelievable how much better it runs. Finally purrs like it should. I guess maybe the silver lining is I learned a lot about the Motronic injection system in the troubleshooting process. Thanks! Mark |

I found this out earlier this year, my FI guy told me it was way out of spec. 3 sets and 1 injector was replaced with this crappy one.
