New key blade to existing key
Hi
I purchased a lock set that comes with new handles and keys. The keys I received looks exactly like the key in the picture with the handle. My existing key has the crest and the little light. My question is, how do I make the new key fit into the existing key head?? Has anybody done this? I am very hesitant cutting the black plastic off of the new spare to see if to top looks similar to my existing .. It cost me a fortune... And I'm scared I'm gonna mess it up... ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk |

Cut it off, if it doesn’t fit go have another key made matching your new one. Anyone can make an extra off your new key.

Try warming the plastic bit of the new key in hot water to see if it will pull off? Just a guess.

Open the case like you are going to replace the battery. This should allow access to replace the metal portion of the key.

Push the tab on the side of the key head. The plastic head should open to replace the light's battery as well as the key.
