It's the anchor for the large spring in the window lift. Your windows will still go up and down, but will require more effort to raise than with a functioning spring.

**Assuming it's not a leftover from a previously failed lift.

The anchor is the same for parallel arm regs as well as the more modern regs.

Will I be able to simply push it back in place?

Hoping to find that it was replaced at some point...replacing the one I found.

You may be able to push it back into place. But it will need to be welded from the rear in order for it to function correctly.

Nah, takes more time to get the regulator out and in than anything else. The welding only takes a moment. All-in, one of the easier fixes.

Fit a new one from our host, held in place by a screw rather than peened over….Just use a little lock tight.

The hard part is getting the regulator out and back in. Replacing the part with the correct piece only takes a few moments.

Part comes in 4 flavors. order the correct one. Find it here: https://www.pelicanparts.com/byb-rennline/c-body-seals_c-bumpers-doors-latches-lids_c-weltmeister-window-regulator-pivots

How to remove regulator: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/bob_tindel/911_window_regulator.htm

It might but then again it may fail again due to becoming misshaped. Buy the new part. Once and done.

New part. Note relative size end without the slot.

Since the old one already has a hole in it, why not use a low profile tapping screw - or tap with an appropriate size and pitch and use a machine screw - with a washer like the new one linked earlier in this thread?

You can but the original part is pot metal which is why it failed in the first place.

Do it right, do it once.

Did it fail, or did it loosen and fall out? Pot metal, and someone suggested welding it, uh, no....that is why I suggested the machine screw. It's just a suggestion.

You will need to remove the regulator. Not hard.
