It's the anchor for the large spring in the window lift. Your windows will still go up and down, but will require more effort to raise than with a functioning spring.
**Assuming it's not a leftover from a previously failed lift.

The anchor is the same for parallel arm regs as well as the more modern regs.

Will I be able to simply push it back in place?
Hoping to find that it was replaced at some point...replacing the one I found. |

You may be able to push it back into place. But it will need to be welded from the rear in order for it to function correctly.

Nah, takes more time to get the regulator out and in than anything else. The welding only takes a moment. All-in, one of the easier fixes.

Fit a new one from our host, held in place by a screw rather than peened over….Just use a little lock tight.

It might but then again it may fail again due to becoming misshaped. Buy the new part. Once and done.

Since the old one already has a hole in it, why not use a low profile tapping screw - or tap with an appropriate size and pitch and use a machine screw - with a washer like the new one linked earlier in this thread?

Did it fail, or did it loosen and fall out? Pot metal, and someone suggested welding it, uh, no....that is why I suggested the machine screw. It's just a suggestion.

will i be able to get a screw in without removing the window lift?
is it facing the door opening or the opposite side. 917_langheck, i just found it off in the inside of my door, not sure if it broke or just fell off. have to look. Last edited by jgurnari; 08-03-2022 at 05:05 PM.. |

You will need to remove the regulator. Not hard.
