Fan Clamp Orientation

I’m replacing the band clamp that holds the fan housing/alternator to the engine case. What is the proper position? The placard should be straight up, but what is the proper position and direction of the clamp bolt?

It doesn't matter so long as it's not in the way of something else. Mine is at 1:30 because it looks jaunty in that position.

My SC is at about 1 or so after Cerakoting the housing and blade. Was originally about here give or take.
I guess it's somewhat jaunty, like a tilted hat.

My '87 has it at the 9:00 o'clock position... perfectly straight up /down and out of the way of the plug wires.

Mine is at (roughly) 10 o'clock; pointing up instead of down. Big deal :-)
