Island911 valve adjust tool

I sent money via paypal approximately a week ago and the payment has not been accepted by the seller. I'm wondering if these are still for sale. If not, what do I need to buy in order to do it at home.

Stay with the regular tool. Just make sure you 'locktite' the very very small nut.....and buy extra blade.

I was part of the original list for Island's tool. Did not get any response and did not, therefore, send $$. I guess I'll stay with my original one.

Seems generous of Pelican to tolerate BBS users conducting business/selling similar products on this board?

Our host is not greedy and sees that we are, or will be customers at some point. They also do not offer the island tool.

Who can't adjust valves with the factory feeler gauge?

Imho a redesigned feeler gauge tool is just marketing hype.

Spare me the sales pitch, it's simple enough to adjust valves with the basic factory feeler gauge.

Hundreds of thousands of Porsche valve adjustments have and will be completed with the factory tool.

Look, The Island tool is nice.. if I didn't already have the standard tool I would probably buy one.. Personaly I've never have had any problems working with it. I bought it about ten years or ago this August.. it came with four extra blades I think I still have two left that are new.
is the Island tool a gimmick?? I don't think so.. will it do the job? sure. Am I going to buy one.. I doubt it..If I really wanted it that bad I would just make one.

it's a tool that you can actually hold and move properly without fumbling. the old one is so damn small, it's awkward to use, unless you have small hands. when the blade gets chewed up, you just snip it off and pull out another 12mm, bend it 90°, and you're back in business. no messing with the tiny screws, nuts, and blades. gimmick, i don't think so. way better tool? yes.

I got mine from Island911 at the first offer. It arrived as quick as it possibly could and he emailed me an instruction also. Much better tool. I don't have to mess with those little screws. Does he make a lot of money out of it? I don't think so. Instead, I appreciate his time and effort of putting it together.

I sent one in on the 22nd and it went through, but I did not receive any indication that tool will be shipped soon. Maybe better to back out the transaction...

looking at the island tool it looks to be a quality tool and not just hype, although the tool i recieved from pelican works great, i would like to get one from island to make my own evaluation.

My Paypal account indicated that the transaction was completed. No response in the past week with several e-mails. I am going to sit tight until next week. I have his mailing address...may send a certified letter..but will give him the benefit of the doubt since I want the tool.
As to the merits of the tool, some people are always skeptical of everything. Don't buy one if you don't agree, but it has real and measurable(no pun intended) benefits.

I ordered one in early May and got it the next week, speedy delivery.

It was my first valve adjust so I don't have a data set on the other tools.

The Island tool worked great for me.

rick, I"m in the same boat now. I realized that the transaction was completed. Island seems like stand-up guy, I'll just sit tight and wait for my valve adjust tool to get here.
