Question Relay testing

Can you test a relay for operation? I may need to replace my DME relay, would like to to test it first, also my wipers dont work could it be the relay? THX

Placing 12v across the 85 and 86 pins will energise the coil
with the coil energised you should have continuity between pins 87 and 30.
Some relays also have a 87a pin whick is a break contact.

A test relay can be made by soldering a lamp/bulb across 85 and 86. and shorting out 30 and 87

This will quickly show whether there is 12 and a ground to op a relay and will also appear to the circuit as an operated relay for very fast fault finding.
