Help with Weber 40 identification
In a few weeks, I'm sending the '71 off to be converted to EFI (Clewett ITBs, ECU Masters engine management, coil-on-plug, new lines, pump, and going from 17 to 22 gallon tank).
The decision is due to s lack of reliable availability of ethanol-free fuel which has done a number on my Webers. I'm planning to have them rebuilt to sell, but can someone help me identify what kind I have? I've googled everything on the side and can't find anything to help me determine where and when they were made. ![]()

Heads up, they are the least valuable of the Italian type 40IDA.

Unless you rebuild them yourself you might consider selling them as is. You can easily spend 3-4 thousand on a full mechanical and cosmetic rebuild. As is they’re probably worth $1800-$2200
I can’t see anyone paying $5-6,000 for them post rebuild. However, I’ve been blown away by BAT buyers many times.

Those are IDTP Webers as installed on 911T for 1969 year model. (914/6 used IDTP1 Webers, note the difference in model number which indicates they installation in a mid-engine location.) They are OK for use on engines with up to 32mm venturis with a minor modification allowing tuning of the air correction jet for the idle/progression circuit.
As recommended above, let new buyer pay for rebuild or refurbishment.

The 71T would have come with Zenith 40TIN’s. The gold paint actually doesn’t look too far off from the color they are supposed to be! haha.
