Hi everyone, good news - the current estimated restock date for URO Parts wide-lip Windshield Seal 911 541 225 03 is the end of July 2024.

The much thicker aftermarket headliner could have been causing issues too. Overall they work well, especially if you are having difficulty with other manufacturers. The Porsche brand rubber seems different than 10 years ago, smaller or something...

Thanks for the report David, your suggestion is noted!

In my experience every car is a little different and each rubber fits differently. The orientation of the rubber on the glass makes a huge difference when you are trying to fit the trim. I use a thin nylon ish rope (2 mm or so, no too thick) with soapy water in a spray bottle. The windshields often go in low if you are not careful. I like to use little foot long sections on each side to center the windshield before the final pull. I have never used the "Porsche Windshield Glass Spacer - 91454190710 " but I recently purchased some for next time, I hear they help.

Thanks again for your suggestion regarding the inner lip width David, our engineering team has been advised! More width would also help cover the transition line between UV-faded headliner material and the original color that was shielded from sunlight behind the original seal lip. Using thin 2mm rope is also a good idea, it's probably easier to pull through the tight gap between the seal and glass.

Haven't heard about using Windshield Glass Spacer 914 541 907 10 on a 911, could you direct us to a thread(s) about it? We've heard that it's easy to accidentally position the glass too low, so spacing up the glass makes sense. Found two related threads on 914World:

Now that you mention it, a longer lip on the inside would be ideal.

Uro: Thanks for your responsiveness and efforts to improve the product. I have had my seal in for 5 years, and so far no cracking or shrinking or loss of pliability.

I may be preaching to the choir, but please also ensure that the material quality is maintained or improved. We know from experience that stuff made in China will get cheapened with lower quality material over time, especially when the Chinese supplier thinks the customer isn't watching. Rubber products are among the worst offenders. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Hi Ivan, this might not be accurate, but we've heard that it might be possible to use 1989-1994 Windshield Seal 964 541 225 00 with a 964 windshield on 1965-1989 cars to eliminate the trim.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks Pete! You are absolutely correct, it's very challenging.

Is this still on track for late July 2024? I really, really could use one right now!

Thanks,

Karl

Any update? Several of us are pretty desperate with giant holes in our cars...

Odd that I don't see that part number listed on the URO website...

Thanks,

Karl

Hi guys, our warehouse currently has "URO Parts 911 541 225 03" available for retailers to buy or drop ship. Not sure why Pelican isn't currently listing our seal, maybe because it was out of stock for quite a while. We'll ask them to make the item live again.

Retail orders can't be placed on our website because we only sell wholesale, but the application data is here: https://apaindustries.com/parts/17716

Duc Hunter 08-12-2024 12:28 PM

So Pelican doesn't have it. Sierra Madre says it's out of stock. I REALLY need 2 of these ASAP and cannot find a vendor. So frustrating!

UROParts 08-12-2024 12:44 PM

Thanks guys, we're putting the word out to our customers, thanks for your patience.

Queefchief 08-13-2024 02:19 AM

I'm ready to purchase. Def need a seal ASAP
