My windshield got replaced in my 930 and I have been dealing with massive leaks and the seal not fitting. (I think it may be the glass even though it came
From Porsche) I had them put in the URO seal which is bigger and now covers the body but now the trim does not go all the way down and it still leaks. Factory seal http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1747142574.jpg New URO seal http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1747142776.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1747142814.jpg |
Finally installing my front glass with the URO seal.
Regarding this bonded seam... is there a preference where it should go, top/bottom? I've located it in the bottom center. Does it matter? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755981474.jpg |
How old is that seal? I don't recall that seam on my URO windshield seal that I installed 5 years ago.
To answer your question: The seal is formed to fit the windshield, thus the top section is shorter than the bottom section. Don't reverse them. |
I bought it 1 year ago. It is one of the "new / redesigned" ones URO batch#11104
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/998122-re-designed-new-uro-windshield-seal-review-7.html#post12332071 I'll pull it off and double check for fit. It was not obvious to me, but maybe I just didn't notice. But, now I question whether that big chunk of seam is normal. Does anyone else have one of these seals with such a blob? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755989008.jpg |
BTW, I still don't see an obvious top vs bottom.

Not sure I like the look of that seam?
|
Our URO seals have that same seam.
I believe it goes on top. |
Hi guys, we're currently investigating production run #11104 due to reports of possible excess length/bulging, and an unattractive top seam. Will report back once Engineering completes its review.

We definitely had that on the last one. Purchased from SSF on 04/30/2025

Thanks appreciate the feedback. Erik |
I have one of these #11819 new in the bag, is there a way I can measure length on my own before removing the windshield and test fitting?
Thanks David |
URO, tank you for once again being so good about admitting your challenges and getting the community the info we need. Awesome service that I hope everyone here appreciates.
URO, are there other batches we can order from or are there no good one's in circulation? Also, there are some of us (like me) who clearly have one with your bad seams. How can we go about getting ours replaced if, like me, we clearly bought them when those were (are) in circulation, but we don't have the bag anymore as we tried to install them....and in that process the bags got thrown out.....in great part because we never expected to have issues like we have. |
I'm really dissapointed in the URO
Seal I received. I waited for almost 8 months for them to go back into production and that bonded seam on the one I finally received renders the seal unusable. Now I'm going to have to select a new source. Bummer. Open to suggestions from those who have had good success with another brand.

I liked the extended lip of the URO seals but from a quality standpoint there is no substitute. Factory Porsche seals are very nice and I would not deviate due to cost. "OEM" seals are extremely frustrating to install so any "savings" is eaten up by time wasted trying to fit them.

Hi everyone, we have an update, and a bit of good news:
"I received the windshield seal on Friday and we installed it yesterday. It was a perfect fit and took all of 75 minutes. As I mentioned before, I really like the URO seal because it has a wider outside lip that will provide more barrier to keep out moisture (and personally I think it looks better than the Genuine Porsche seal)." If anyone has a #11104 seal or a too-long #11819 seal, please email a photo of the URO label (showing 911 541 225 03 and the batch number) and a copy of your order confirmation to "sales at apaindustries dot com" to arrange a warranty replacement. Sorry for the hassle! |
