Oil Line to Camshaft Carrier
I ordered part number 930-107-347-14 for my 1985 911 (late production). It does not fit.
The problem is the location of the connection for the oil line to the chain tensioner is not correct. Is there more than one possible part number for the left side oil line? Thanks ![]() |

Your oil line and bracket to the cam housing cover looks wrong. The location of the fitting on the new oil line looks to be in the same place as mine. Just offset to the large housing nut.
That large bracket on the cam housing cover seems to be in the way. I don't have that on my sc. |

I recall this is kinda common, you need to do some bending of the little line to make it fit. If you search (not so easy to do) you will find some other posts.

The bracket is for the spark plug wires. And the old line clearly has the nut welded to the left of the new one. If I were to use the old line, it would fit perfectly without bending the small pipe. Heading to dealership to take a look.

Happened to me. I removed the line and carefully bent it. However, my SC did not have that bracket in the way.

Just dealt with this too. Mine wasn't that far off. I bent the small line to the tensioner. If you backdated heat and used the 930 tin, it will interfere with that now.

Looks like John Walkers work shop has it right. It is the hard line that I have wrong, not the rubber one. I'll post the two part numbers that work, once I get the part and confirm.
Thanks! SightLine Readers. Last edited by bandsmalter; 01-31-2015 at 02:53 PM.. |

Any updates, on the replacement 930-107-347-14, did you order the OEM or after market. From the pics, it looks OEM with that yellow tint on the metal.
Also do you recall the torque specs for the 3 connections? My aftermarket one developed a leak going into the center of the engine. I torqued it and made it worse, oh the joy. TIA, Jim

its not torque, these lines have to be perfectly aligned for the sealing surfaces to meet properly. Once seated, just a bit more tightness, don't overdue it.

Old thread but while I'm here... that tensioner oil feed line turns down behind the support bracket for the ig cables. Line is soft enough that it can be bent (to a degree) to fit the space. Nuts are not right in my pic---should be Ny-locks.
