Curious if there is a way to rebuild FPR and Damper
Just curious is anyone has managed to take a 3.2 FPR or Damper apart and figure a way to restore full functionality once they have crapped out? Clearly on both of mine, they were leaking, thus the replacement. But the housings are both clean and in good shape, so wondering if anyone has figured a way to repair these?

We've wondered the same thing. No luck so far.
We did find these guys who are manufacturing their own with Bosch components. I have one on the table for a 951 rebuild we're working on. Looks great, but not original. ![]() ![]()

Also on these dampers the original would have had much higher volume. The drop in cartridge dampers are designed for sequential fire injection not the batch fire our cars came with. to meet the requirements of our batch fire system the dampers should really have more volume or more dampers. Coincidentally there is a company specializing in 928s that make a rebuildable FPR and Damper explicitly for the 2.5 BAR and batch fire systems as the 85-86 928 use the exact same regulator and damper as the 3.2 Carrera. Precision Motorwerks You may have to call or email to get the details as his website is very limited. rennlist post discussing.[/QUOTE] |
