SCART Riva specific muffler bracket MIA. Did I figure out the problem?
After seeing the picture of a SCART muffler and bracket for sale here, I *THINK* I figured out why the SCART Riva I attempted to install on my 1987 with M&K headers and backdated muffler mount didn't line up...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When resting the muffler lip on the backdated mount, the flanges did not line up vertically (although, they did line up horizontally). In order to get the flanges to line up vertically the body of the muffler needed to move up AND aft. This took the muffler off the stock backdated mount. I acquired the muffler last year, used, from a local Pelican there was no separate mount. Now, per the more recent for sale post (pics below) and this off of SCART's site... "Our exhausts all fit onto the original interfaces. By this we mean their entry, their outlet and their size conform to the original part. This muffler fits several centimeters further back into the rear bumper to enable a better cooling. Our exhaust sits on its own support which we supply with the exhaust. This support replaces the original one." ...it looks like I need that SCART specific mount? I wish I'd known that last April. Do y'all concur? If so, anyone have one for sale or have a line on one? Trying to get one from SCART, via Rstrada, but I'm having the car dyno tuned on 2/16 and I'm running out of time. ![]() ![]() Thx!

I remember seeing that advert and thought the same thing. Just haven't mentioned it as I've been mia for a few weeks.
Rather surprised that no one mentioned it to you when you bought the exhaust. It would seem to be a key component of success.... |

the shape of the scart bracket looks awfully similar to the 930 bracket (93011115101), and it seems like it mounts to the lower bolts on the console just like the 930 part (unlike the early 911 bracket) based on the shape.
since it sounds like the muffler could actually bolt up to the header flanges, it might be worth trying to fit the muffler with the 930 part. also, if you’re near SF, I bet a shop like Race Factory in San Jose could whip up a bracket like the one pictured without much trouble. |

Upon further discussion with Martin at SCART, he doesn't believe it's a muffler mount issue. The above mentioned mount is for their 1 in / 1 out muffler.
At Martin's suggestion, I'm going to bring the car to Arling at RStrada to get his opinion.
