drop engine to replace rear support bracket??

I need to replace the bent ~30" long engine rear support bracket on my 1989 3.2 Carrera. Can anyone tell me if this be done without dropping the motor and if so how? Or do I need to disconnect everything like I was dropping the motor and only lower enough to bolt the new one on?
Thanks in advance for any insight or instructions. I've dropped the motor to do a clutch 10 years ago.

I did this on my sc two year ago, so a little memory fog..

Removed some bottom tin, did I remove the muffler?... Slight pia overall, maybe 2 hours.

Other than that nothing special except holding the engine up with the jack 3.2 may be different?

It should be , just undo the bolt at each end of the mount arm , leave muffler in place .

The bent side of the motor mount bar prevented me from removing easily, had to go from underneath... wasted lots of time figuring this one out. It was close though, maybe with some more muscle and worry free attitude it could have been wedged out?

It is a wiggle of jacking up and down and the angle of the bar.

Guys, thanks for the comments, I've wiggled it around without lowering the motor and couldn't see it happening, so I'll try the sheet metal and muffler removal. I'll have to remove the airconditioning compressor jack / tension bolt so I can lower the engine a little as the engine only drops about 1/2" before that hits the Sheetmetal that the motor mounts are bolted to.

I Switches mine recently.
- secure engine below with a lift jack
- remove 4 bolts from center (pulleyhousing)
- remove big bolts of crossbar left and right
- slightly lower the engine
- secure it with stand at lowered hight
- remove engine mounts for more clearance
- gently lower engine even more until rear gap is large enough
- again, secure engine position with stand
- pass crossbar through gap in engine bay
- crossbar will slide down between muffler and bumper
- install new crossbar in reverse mode to above

edit: when lifting up engine back in position, make sure the rubber flaps don't get squashed

Has anyone tried this with the cabrio mount. I have the cabrio mount in a targa and it just takes up so much work room, is it worth to keep the cabrio mount otherwise changing over if not a full drop may be in the picture
