Can't get motor separated from trans
Hey gang.
A little stuck on a weekend project, can't separate a fellow pelican's engine from the trans. Looks like we need to remove the clutch adjusting arm, but it's seized. Came to visit a buddy this weekend for a quick refresh but now we're a bit stuck. Is there any tool we can snag from Oreilly's that will make quick work of this? ![]() We've done a couple of propane heat cycles and hammer hits, but hoping to persuade this off with a more tactful approach. I've included a picture of my pups that are driving my wife crazy at home right now to expedite some insight from folks that have been stuck here.... she needs me back ![]() ![]() Thank you! |

You have to remove the clutch lever arm first.
The clutch fork indexes into the T.O. Bearing, since it’s a pull clutch. Remove the snap ring from the small arm and remove it. Then pivot the omega spring and long arm to release the spring tension and then it will come right off. Edit: sorry, I missed the part where you said it was seized. Is it the smal arm or long arm that is seized? Last edited by Tyson Schmidt; 03-18-2023 at 07:09 AM.. |

Nice.
Yeah that clutch fork shaft looks pretty rusty. I’ve never had the small arm seize, but I’ve seen the omega spring arm seize on many times. Glad you got it handled. |
