Failure Mode of ????
It's 85 deg ambient. Oil temp 100c. Last of 10 AX runs. Wide guts in 2nd and.....backfire...black smoke, flames out the exhaust....cool.
No spark. Sumthin in the ignition went poof. NO warning Whatcha think? MSD (it was hot to the touch) Pertronix (I have a spare) Coil? Cap & rotor are OK. Magnetic Pertronix thingy on the dizzy is ok. I let the thing cool down for 3 hours, but no joy......permanent daid. No troubleshooting yet. If it's the MSD, I should get no voltage to the coil, right?

OUCH
 Sent my PM before I saw the note. Check for spark at a plug first and start working back. Does MSD have a troubleshooting chart? You might want to drop your permatune unit in there to see if it will work. That sucks man. Hope it's minor.
