still mean what it used to...?

This old guy wants to know if a rapid blinking of a turn signal means a failing flasher.

If so, where do I find the flasher on nmy '86 3.2?

Other ideas also welcom.

(need to get this fixed to pass NYS insp by end of the month!)

Thansk in advance

Turn on the emergency flasher and see which bulb isn't flashing. Remove the bulb, inspect for soundness, clean socket, check for corroded or disconnected wires.

As others have said, usually a fast flashing is an indication of a burned out bulb, or a non functional bulb.

One challenge, the Germans used a metric bulb that is just a little bit bigger than the standard US size bulbs base. They don't fit really tight and can have weak connections.

Find what one does not flash, and pop out the bulb. Test it with a ohm meter, and replace if it is blown. Clean the contacts if the bulb is good or bad, as clean electrical contacts are always a good thing. Test the blinker speed. If they are all working, the relay is pretty easy to replace, just not cheap.

It's sooooo often a ground. Get the voltmeter out and check impedance to ground and volts at the socket. Use a wiring diagram if you need to

This!

It is no fun at all to go around and clean every possible ground connection. It is impossible to have too good of a ground, more is always better.

And the bulbs themselves are just as prone to a weak ground.

I have found it to often be a weak flasher. Change the flasher out with a new OEM and see the difference
