Is 1986 shift knob different then '87?
My shift knob is super tired and needs replaced. I look online and find a bunch of places selling shift knobs for 911's from 197X - 1986. Mine is a 1987 will these not work with my 1987 carrera? tried to find out on my own without asking for help without any luck.

87 is the first "bolt on".

Surprisingly few options out there - I ended up having a custom knob made at a hotrod shop, and then made a 2" extension. Love the way it feels and shifting into 5th is much easier for me in my seat position.
