PVX build thread: one view from the slope
All of us that ride the slippery slope arrive at different destinations. In return for all the inspiration I’ve gotten from this board I’d like to share my current ride. Five years on the slide and getting close to hitting bottom.
A huge thanks to everyone at WEVO for making it possible. It's been great fun! First a snapshot of where the car is at now: ![]() And a quick clip with sound! So that’s where it’s going, but of course the fun’s in the journey. That journey in pictures follows. I realize now that despite all the photos more details than I can remember are not captured here. Structural reinforcement members run inside the factory panels, extra welding to stiffen the structure, LED lights, changes to the wheelbase... The list goes on. And I’ve still got too many photos! Enjoy, -Pete ![]() ![]() This was before Hayden and the crew at WEVO were involved, so I did some FEA for chassis stiffness in the cage design. ![]() ![]() Making room, relocation: ![]() ![]() Custom fenders due to the wheel relocation: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

What exactly did you do to the wheelbase? -Britain

Great build! I like it very much.
Where did you get the front bumper?

Thanks for sharing these fantastic pics Pete, you've done an amazing job with the team at WEVO.
I don't experience speechlessness very often, but that car knocked me out the day I saw it. I can't wait to come back and soak up the finished article. Top work!!

Wow. Just wow. I've been scheming a way to move to the bay area, and you just gave me yet another reason! To see this car in person. It's over the top. Spec-tac-u-lar!
Tell me, and I'll kick myself for not knowing, but what are the two items that project up from under the fuel cell and end near the strut tops? They have red fittings it appears. At first I thought they were related to the dampers, but I see those cans are there, lower and in front. Curious...

I think he means the radiator overflow tanks, or maybe not.

ahhhhh, yes, I wondered if they had anything to do with the front of the A arm....very cool. (I'm actually NOT kicking myself!) The more I look, the more I like. I really admire the restraint you used in the overall appearance, (the front bumper is a great example) yet the nuclear approach you've taken elsewhere. Is this an ultimate R-Gruppe style car, or what?

I don't see those either...at least up front. I do see an oil tank, and the brake and clutch reserviors (front and rear fro brakes, balance via shaft on the pedal assembly, I think), and i thought I saw the rad expansion tank over the engine, drivers side. But i could be wrong on that.
Which brings up another interesting point, Pete. As the pictures of your build progressed, I saw the alum tubes on each side and thought, "Wow, those are some serious oil lines, but cool idea running the return on the opposite side". THEN I saw the GT3 motor and the bulb went off, ...water cooled. But, I don't see an oil cooler. Is it not needed....at all? Or is it near the new back seat area, and I just didn't ID it?

I believe that the oil cooler is behind the front bumper. He has holes cut out of the bumper and the oil lines in the passenger footwell.
