Any reason NOT to use a Mocal thermostat?

Good morning. Doing some planning on a 3.2L build in a long hood and need to get the oil lines sorted out.

Is there any reason not to use a new Mocal thermostat rather than a used Porsche one from a later G-body car?

Thanks in advance for any coaching.

Mocal v Porsche thermostat

If you go with the factory stuff, (thermostat and lines), it fits and works well. I bought a new thermostat from pelican and sourced some used lined from Elephant for my 74.
Additionally, the factory unit has a pressure bypass to peotect the front/fender cooler.
IIRC, when i put a mocal thermostat on my 77 308, (they do not come with a thermostat in the oil system - so warm ups used to take forever, especially in cooler climates and sedate driving), the I.D. of the thermostat was about 3/4 inch, maybe a bit smaller.
The porsche thermostat seemed to be less restrictive - hopefully someone has one of each on the bench and can verify.
The Mocal unit works well on the 308, warm-ups are much quicker.

Does the Mocal have metric threads to match the oil lines?

I am using this as I don't have my oil lines run in the stock location and i'm using AN fittings. Works perfect for my application.

I'm running the -12 unit https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=1226

The Pressure bypass is there to protect the motor from crushed lines by letting the oil flow back to the motor through tge bypass. Without this bypass and the lines get crushed, the oil cant return to the the engine. .

I run a modern oil cooler and fan in the rear of my SC with a mocal thermostat. Video of the install here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADuk4yl-X30&t=281s
