Seen it before... it lived for a while down at our local dealership. Its ok, in a 450hp Le Mans looking kind of way
![]() I think it belongs to an Aussie who can't keep it in Australia (our rules are quite lax with respect to LHD and unusual cars), so he leaves it here and comes visit. I guess he has got bored of it (or ordered a Carrera GT?).

Cam,
It's not that I am bored with it - it's just that it has full ashtrays. Amir, I think Matt has retired the 2.7 to garage queen duties - seems to be showing a preference for wine tasting tours instead of track days.

Amir,
It's a pretty surreal ad. Personally, I think the GT1 suffers from a real identity crisis. I'd rather a restored 906 or a new GT3. For the price of a GT1 I could probably afford both! Vic, The problem I have is that I'm addicted to racing, but my funds can't feed the addiction. My love of 911s and racing is sort of intertwined, but I'm starting to wonder whether I should mothball the Carrera and buy a 944 so I can work on my craft more cost-effectively. ![]() I'm still going to Winton on the 12th. Well, it's too low for my driveway, so I'll have to pass...
Shame, because it's a nice looking ride! Thanks, Amir. ![]()

You should bring that thing over, especially in time for the 12th. I thnik you could safely despatch the 2min at Winton with that, assuming you didnt try to change gears with the LHD door opener at 250kmh. Matt I didnt realise you held a CAMS L3 (or better) licence. What racing are you doing? I like to come and watch. rque Sports? Your not using the 911 tho, as I recall it wasnt caged or set up to race? stuart

Stuart,
I've only got a CAMS L2 licence. Apparently the aPorschaPart 944 Challenge is a great little series; $30K will get you a ready-to-race 944, and $10K will see you through a full season. http://www.aporschapart.com/944Challenge/ I wouldn't sell my Carrera to buy -- or build -- a 944 racecar, but I'd do it if I could get sponsorship.
