In the Zuffenhausen Workshop
We were in Zuffenhausen earlier this week to tour the Porsche museum as well as the assembly line. There’s a Porsche classic workshop there where they maintain some of the older vehicles in their collection. Thought folks might like to see what’s currently in the shop …

Yep - I have tons. Here are some you might find interesting (note that the white 930 was made especially for Ferry Porsche - you will see that his signature is embossed into the seats). Unfortunately, no pics of assembly line - you have to give them your phone before going on that tour.

Wow cool!
Thanks for posting! My favorite part of the Porsche Museum is the cars constantly change and move around. Stan

Happy to share the pics. The phone collection is only for the actual factory tour, not the museum. However, in my opinion, the factory tour is an absolute must see. You are actually down on the assembly line floor, dodging robots bringing parts to the various workstations. We saw 911s at all stages of assembly, moving up and down on huge platforms, with guys installing dashboards, windshields, putting doors together, etc. The only thing we missed was the section of the line where chassis is mated to the body, since apparently there was something top secret going on when we were there. We also loved the upholstery shop portion of the tour, where a guy marks the bad sections of the cow hides. Those markings are then transferred to a computer. The hides are then fed into an automated cutting machine that uses ultra high powered water jets to trim the hides. We stayed in Munich, which is about 2 hours from Stuttgart by train. I don’t think there is much to see in Stuttgart itself - it’s a bit gray and industrial.
