That means a lot coming from you sir. Now that it's close to being done I will say I hope to never go thru the process ever again. |

Tasty, I am looking thru my files for the before photos of the Classic Touring Seats "LeMans". Can't seem to find any with the headrest installed. I basically took the headrest foam and cut it down about 40%. Took a carving knife to it. If memory serves me correctly, I remember stuffing the cut down foam into the old vinyl cover and felt like I had reduced the overall size about 50%. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1746827714.jpg ^ I don't know if this photo does them justice but these are how they are now. Recovered in new leather. |
Engine is in and running well.
The genius that is Ed Mayo did all of the tuning. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1747751376.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1747751376.jpg Waiting on parts for the front brakes so that I can finish those up, put the tires on and drive it. |
It's now aligned and ride height is about where I want it to be. I still expect it to settle on the new suspension.

Thank you Jonny, for everything. Yeah looks like rain here for a few days, I hate to complain when it rains in Texas in the summer. Got fresh hot air hoses (ducts) in from our host a few minutes ago. I'll get those on tonight. Just a few small things left. Waiting on: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1749568707.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1749568707.JPG 15x7's on all four corners. |
First shakedown run this morning. About 80 miles. Mostly uneventful only a minor shifter adjustment needed. JWest was on site and happy to make the adjustment himself. Thank you sir.

Great work, Steve! |
Thank you Chris. I know you know what it took to get it to this point. Your insight and humor are always something to look forward to. I wish we could post videos here. I am going to try and get something up on you tube. This motor sounds pretty awesome.

trials935, That is one of the few things I did not make. I bought it from Carbone. When it arrived I did not like the edging so I removed that and had it rebound. I also did not like their logo emblem and pocket built into the portion that covers the area at the blower cover. So I removed them. This is what was left. |
Thanks, your 72 looks amazing. I sold my 72 I've owned for 36 years and was my dad's for 10 years before that and it was then in the process of being restored for 5 years. Here is after restoration. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1750780998.jpg
