Who's Watching Le Mans?

Speed Channel is showing the start of Le Mans at 6:30AM PST Saturday (tommorrow) - and coverage continues throughthe weekend.

To get us in the mood, there is a very cool video on www.rennlist.com/racing. A lap of Le Mans, courtesy of TRG. 28MB, so dial-uppers need not apply. Well worth the download, if you can. (I guess it can stream too). Love hearing those downshifts! Any estimates of how fast he's going?

My wife was a little puzzled when I was clearing off 17 hours of space on the Tivo.

Just watched the prequal for F1, man that looks a little scary getting the power to the ground in the rain! I'll check out Le mans the first hour or so and then on for a morning romp

Between being under the weather with a stomach bug and it also being Father's day weekend, I'm pretty much cleared to watch all the coverage from LeMans and Canada.

Sorry Spikes, but life is great .... not just good!

T minus 40 minutes and counting.

Le Mans is the best race, not including the Isle of Man TT.
What a great weekend it turned out to be.
Yes, I am missing Porsche Clash at Watkins Glen, but I get to spend time with my Dad, watch the Le Mans and F1 too!

Go Benltey!
Go Alex Job Racing!!
Forza Ferrari!!!!

yeah, the provisional qualifying at Montreal was pretty scary last night. I can't even imaging that much hp and those kind of speeds on a wet track.

Very nice video. What car is it? A 996 GT3 R? He stays in sixth for some time on the straight so he's going pretty fast

I watched it this morning, then they cut to F1 qualifying, in 15 minutes they're going back to Le mans.
Where the heck is all the NASCAR crap they usually show 24-7?
just kidding but I'm not used to this much quality programming on speed.
They're going to have to show 10 days straight of NASCAR to make up for this weekend.

Just celebrated 8 years together, as a matter of fact. Married for two.

It was her idea for me to treat myself to a 'weekend car.' I don't think she had any idea how far that idea could get taken.

Well, a nice Le Mans for the Bentleys - 1, 2 with an Audi 3 overall. The Alex Job Porsche won GT. TRG had a clutch problem early and couldn't come back from it. The ProDrive Ferrari 550 won GTS with Corvettes 2, 3. Any one know which manufacturers are planning works efforts for next year?

As a show of solidarity for my fellow bretheren...I was up for the whole thing...I did all 24 straight. ( I was there in 2000)...it was a great race.

Here's an interesting note. during the coverage, I couldn't log into speedtv.com at all (speed channels website)...were the sports car enthusiasts able to crash it?? hope so...that'll show them.

however...did find a new site...www.motorsport.com GREAT site...lots of pics...

I was told that the winning Bentley's were sprung with Torsion Bars:) Looks like our "Old Tech" isn't too old after all.
