Triangle of death w/ engine in

Hey everyone,
So I’m working on a car that has more or less been parked for 25 years or so.
It has a pretty bad oil leak (when running, not while sitting). The oil leaks around the bell housing between the engine and trans. I have crawled under the car to try to see if it’s the rear main but I can’t tell for sure if it is or not. So I’m thinking the leak could be coming from further up. While the engine is running and warmed up ups a steady drip. But on start up or shut down it’s pissing lol.
So now to my question finally, how much of a PIA is it to remove the entire CIS system to be able to check/service the triangle of death stuff while the engine is in the car?
I don’t have all the tools and such to tackle the “easy” engine drop yet so if it’s possible to do in the car that’s my game plan.
TIA

Probably just the oil pressure light switch leaking. Way easier than the whole triangle job. Helps to post what year the car is for more accurate results.

Sorry, car is a 77’…
So would getting to that (at the top back of the engine) be a nightmare to get to without dropping the engine?

use mirror and flash light to look behind the air box...to replace the switch is not really hard but 1st best would be visual ...
Another thing is if the car was sitting so long your flywheel seal is most like dried up and could be leaking from there as well plus other seals on the engine.

to replace just oil press.switch get yourself 24mm socket, extension for it 1st remove the air booth-boot and slide it to the side if you cannot loosen the back hose clamp. You can reach from top to disconnect the wire.
To install the new one used either little tape to attach the switch to the socket or some kind of modelin or doh.....

Yes, remove the top rubber boot first. That will make access much easier.
