mating a 67 trans to a 2.2

I am thinking about using a 2.2 engine in a 67. What are the clutch operation issues to be solved? Are the 901 trans splines and pilot bearing diameters compatible? I know that a 2.2 clutch is a push type with a cable that is different from later 915, so I would rather use the 901 cable that goes with the car.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Use an early (69 and older) flywheel and clutch assembly on the 2.2.
