Pop off valve incorrectly installed 180 off

After I blown the air box on my stock early 78 SC from misfire, the shop installed a new air box along with a pop off valve. I’m having a cold starting issue and noticed that the valve would occasionally stuck in halfway on position with the air filter screen. Appears it still working somehow but the incorrect 180 installation would only allows the valve to open half way at most. I can can hear the misfire and then when I remove the air filter I could hear the valve slams shut.
What to do😭? Not going back to the shop again but should I leave it as is or would cleaning alcohol be able to loosen the expoxy and reinstall a new one? Thanks !

Drilling a hole into a brand new airbox to stick a toilet seat aka "pop off valve" is a bandaid if the rest of your CIS system is out of tune.

First thing to check is for vaccum leaks.
