G50 Issues Part2 - Clicking Sound from Clutch
Thanks to all who responded to my last post. Based on your info, it looks like a new clutch may be in order.
I do have another question though. Just last night, my clutch pedal started to make some noise. When I let up on the clutch, I hear a distinct metallic click from the back of the car. I can also feel the click through the clutch pedal. This sound and sensation can be heard and felt whether the engine is on or off. There is no sound when I depress the clutch, and the pedal operation feels normal (it's not overly stiff). Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any input would be very helpful. Thanks in advance! |

Just a Wild arse guess on my part, but the tube that the clutch rides on can wear, so possibly the thing is getting cocked, starting to stick, and then it lets go. Or possibly you have the original needle bearings and they are sticking, but from what I understand that is usually the cause of a really stiff clutch.

If you haven't had the G50 fork/shaft update done, then you have that coming. The needle bearings dry out and begin to embed themselves into the shaft. It will make a clicking noise, get stiffer over time and contribute to the failure of your slave cylinder too. This is well documented in the archives. Ask me how I know ALL about this problem.
