Valve guide core drill bit search

I'm down to my last 12mm X 9mm valve guide core drill. Baum Tools used to have them, but no more. Tool grinding outfits can make them, but the price is up there. Anyone know where to get one, or have one for sale?

I saw that too, but the picture isn't like what I posted. No 9mm pilot.

True about the picture.

However,
The description says it’s stepped

I think I figured out why it’s a bit difficult to find it.

Everything is in decimal inches

Maybe a search for 0.4687 with a 0.35 pilot would work

Or get some custom made.

This picture doesn’t match yours but maybe…

I’ve got another 40 minutes until my son’s swim practice is over. I can keep looking.

Might just order one to see. Gotta be for brass though. Gene Berg shows a bit with a 9mm pilot but they don't say what the main drill size. Have to call on Tuesday. Thanks.

The GB 712-9 seems like the ticket based upon the description.

I guess the outer diameter isn’t hugely important so long as you get the step created that allows the old guide to be driven out.
Creating a thinner wall would make the process easier

You might try these guys, but for the advertised prices you can probably have some modified locally:

Looks like this company will make them to order if it comes to that:

I was at Woodward this morning. Pricey, and the guide tip is pretty long and might break off easily if not used in a drill press/lathe/mill. I do them by hand so ya gotta be steady. That's why I'm down to my last one. The guide OD is 13.08 and 15/32 bit is a hair under 12mm, (11.9mm).

I was curious so went to the vwparts.aircooled.net site and it appears they are no longer operating. Am I looking at the wrong site?

Hey John,
This is Erin, former Phinney Ridge resident (Theo Chocolate, 911s, Alfas, etc) sent you some seat bottoms a while ago - In a bind maybe Rich S could make a few to hold you over for a bit (no pun). Not to throw him in front of the work bus, but an idea as he is well equipped to do so.
Hope things are well on your side of the world. I'm in upstate NY now, so if you ever make it out this way...
