| Registered | Headlight Low Beams Not Working
My headlight low beams (left and right) are not working. High beams are fine. I checked the fuses and they are ok. There is juice at the low beam fuse terminals. My question is: Are low beam and high beam bulbs different? Do I need to replace only the low beam bulbs or is it a single bulb with both high and low beams combined. Thanks Ruben 1976 911 2.7L | ||

odds are it is your turn signal switch (which also controls the high beams). These are notorious failure points, as all of the current for the headlights travel through this poor little switch. While you might be able to fix it, likely you'll end up putting a new switch in. While you're at it, install relays for the headlights. Do a search on "headlight relay" and you'll find tons of info including pictures on how to swap out the switch and install the relays.

What he said. This was just discussed in a recent thread. My TS switch was bad in my 911 and produced that same problem. I ended up putting the high beam wires on the low beam side of the lamps to get by. Wish this BBS was around back then. 911 sold in 1996. Mistake.
