915 trans

It's only working to shift into 1st and 2nd gear, nothing else. I replaced the common bushings for the shift coupling rod and lever, correctly adjusted them, but the shifting mechanism won't move side to side in neutral. I decided to disconnect the linkage and isolate the shift rod going into the transmission, but it won't rotate at all for gears 1/2 to 3/4 and 5/reverse side to side in neutral. I'm looking for any feedback from those who have had a similar experience or experts. Thanks!

If you can’t move selector to select 3+ then the transmission needs to come out and go to a shop.

Not necessarily. The next step is to pull the cover plate off the bottom and see if the selecter guide fork the main shift rod runs through has either come loose or has broken tines on it.

I pulled off the cover plate from the bottom, and the shift fork appears intact. I also manually moved both of shift shafts (internal transmissions) into 1 and 2 gear as well as 3 and 4 gear with a pry bar. However, the shifting rod won't move at all into the 3/4 gate. I've attached a movie here (realized its too large memory couldn't upload here). Maybe something is jammed or blocking it?

915 transaxle repair

Does anyone know who does 915 transaxle repair in Austin, tx local or surrounding town? Recommend list based only on who had experience with their gearbox service. Either shop or garage on the side. Thanks

sounds like you have the adjustment out of sync.
lever to the left , 1-2 line , then grab the shift couple , rotate clockwise to max .
tighten clamp

I've seen the symptoms you describe arise when the tapered set screw on the coupler becomes loose.

Both of above. I use a bungee cord to pull the shifter all the way to the left. Then rotate the coupler all the way to the right, tighten the screw. Done.
