Shift Boot for RennShift Legacy ProtoStick
I just finished installation of the JWest Rennshift performance shifter in my 1978 SC. I am very pleased with the fit and finish, and am dialing in the linkage adjustments.
I opted for the Legacy ProtoStick which was a great option for me. My question pertains to how I should modify the small RS rubber boot which was included to fit over the base of the stick (which is wider than the classic round tapered stick). It looks like I just need to trim the boot to be able to slide it most of the way down the stick. For anyone who has the Legacy ProtoStick, what did you do? Thanks!

To answer my own question, I sent a not to JWest last evening. 15 minutes later I received an answer....
The boot will stretch to fit the bottom of the protostick. However, it will tend to slide up on the taper. We like to flip the upper collar of the boot down inside like a funnel. The collar will grip the vertical part of the protostick where the setscrews are, and will stay down in place. Now that is great customer service!
