Heat control box hoses are too long for an early 911

The heat exchanger to heat control box hoses that are available now are too long for an early car. (In my case a 73.) The parts catalogues show the hose length as 250 mm. The only ones sold now, by Porsche or by Pelican, are 330 mm. Can someone suggest a source for the original size of 250 mm, or will I have to cut these to fit an early car?

This doesn't help you much but these are a bit of a nightmare to cut because the reinforcing wire needs restraining otherwise it uncoils everywhere.

The black ones suck. Get the orange scat hose, 2.5", from Aircraft Spruce.

Any suggestions as to fashioning the hose end after cutting to avoid the problem of the inside wire coming loose?

It won’t come loose.

If you buy SCEET hose, it has another layer of silicone on the inside which sandwiches the wire and keeps it from coming loose a little better.

Yes Aircraft Spruce. SCEET SCAT whatever. Black topside. Orange underside. Cut to length. Some gorilla glue to seal. Heat resistant and long lasting. Looks good too.
