3.5L RSR Motor Build Complete with Dyno Numbers - Finally

Hope everyone is well and staying cool. It's been ages since my build update, but finally completed the build with Chris Cervelli. What a fun, but long project (going on 18 months).

Build is a 3.46L motor on Motec. My parts list of quite long, but seems to have come together well. The motor makes 315 horsepower at the wheels at 7,100 PRM and 257 lbs ft. torque at the wheels with 91 octane. The heads, while running larger valves and extensive porting by Brian Pauter, and cams limit these early NA motors. It did exceed my expectations on output, but a little more would nice to have.

A nice result - congrats! Sounds like a fun motor. Are you able to share what cams you used?

Certainly. We utilized Webcam grind 464/465 part number PN-80597. I don't see it on their website at the moment to provide a link to the profile.

Thanks. I recall that grind being a pretty aggressive race grind.

The Web 464-465 is actually a very smooth and torquey grind, even at 101 lobe centers, and a very nice rush at the top.
Great build , I'm sure you will have lots of fun with this engine .
Well done
I see a Sahlens sticker on the trash can , It reminds me of the 4 Nonamaker Integras that I Had 24 years ago.

Thank you. We are idling well. I think the plan is to leave the current cams and enjoy the car for a while and see how the real-world drivability looks.

This is quite beautiful to look at. I’m guessing that you have some Adapt Motorsport items on here? Fuel Pressure Regulator and DBW throttle body adapter? Thank you for extra detailed up close photos! Best of luck. It’s stunning. Patrick

Good eye - yes, Adapt Motorsport GT3 intake to 2 head adaptors, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, as well as their plenum. Using the Gt3 intake on an aircooled, means narrower central spacing. Their plenum was a perfect fit and allows the use of 82mm throttle body. Also included using Bosch T-Map sensor. We used the factory resonance tube, machined to fit the narrow diameter and ended up tuning for the resonance flap on the dyno. I think we now open about 500 PRM higher versus on a factory GT3.

The guys at Adapt were great to work with and products are very high quality with great first time fitment.

So glad to hear your positive reviews on Adapt. I have a shelf full of their stuff for my upcoming 3.0 EFI single throttle body, DBW, sequential spark & injection conversion. Their parts are pure man jewelry, lol! Gonna be fun this summer.
