Fikse FM10 for 84 Carrera

Greetings folks,

I am thinking of getting rid of my Cup II's for some Fikse's. What are the typical sizes of most folks running? Offsets etc? I also have 205 in the front and 255 in the rear and wanted to reuse my tires so I wanted them to fit right. Basically I like the look and stance of my car now and didn't want to muck with it with new wheels. I am not sure of the size that would duplicate the 17 Cup II's 7 & 9.

Also these wheels are for sale, mint not a mark...

I run 8&9x17" with 225f, 255r Kumho V700's. FM10's are a royal pain to keep clean. If I had it to do over again I would get FM5's.

I've got 17x8 and 9's on my 86 Carrera with 235 and 255 with no fitment problems. I'll second Chris' statement - they are a real pain in the butt to keep clean, but man do they look great on our cars!

Good luck, post a picture once you've pulled the trigger.

Yeah I hear you on the cleaning part. Cup II's are cake, I can get my whole mitt on the entire wheel/brake assembly and keep it spotless. My car is part garage queen, part track time and good weather driver so I am not sure how much of an issue the cleaning would be.

I don't know if i want to run 235's up front. My fenders are rolled a bit, but nothing crazy. I never had any rubbing issues until I went to the track.

Not sure what to do...anyone get better prices than roughly $600 per wheel on an FM10?

Ditto on the cleaning comment. I bought Kinesis K5 17x8 & 17x9.5 black powder painted ctr. wil further ease the cleaning chore.

If you don't want to mess with the body for fitment stick w/ 225/45 and 255/40.

Talk w/ the vendor about o/s and fitment, be sure that they will guarantee fit.

235/45 and 275/40 a real pain to fit properly!!

bills got it right.
fm-10s in 17x7.5 and 9 in the rear with 225 front and 255 kumho ecsta mxs for my 88 carrera. fm-10s are beautiful, but what a pain to clean. if i were to get them again i'd probably black out the centers and just have the polished lip.

I have the FM10's. I went with 7.5 and 9 x 17. I would go with 8's and 9.5s if I did it again and roll the fenders. Cleaning is not any more difficult that the Polished Fuchs. I use Simple Green and a soft paint brush. Sure it takes 10-15 minutes more each car wash but it is worth it.

My Fuchs are very easy to clean and look good too. Porsche knew what they were doing when they put the Fuchs on the 911s. On the other hand I have to spend time and elbow grease to clean my BMW sport wheels. BMW must not have been concerned with keeping the wheels clean.
Keep it simple.
