What would cause multiple ABS relay failure

Last year I had my Speedo repaired as it died, installed and still didn’t work. After investigation, replaced the ABS relay and everything worked. Put a couple thousand miles and then back to storage for the winter. Last week, put the battery in and fired right up. Drove home about 20 minutes and everything was working. Park in the garage, hook up the float charger to the battery. 1 week later, disconnect float charger, start car and the ABS warning sound and light on dash. Drive out and speedometer not working. What would cause an ABS relay to fail?

fwiw - there is a Mercedes relay that works - available for considerably less money.
