Installing SSIs on my 1977 2.7
Hi,
I am planning on installing SSIs on my 1977 911 S Targa with a 2.7. I am planning on using copious amounts of PB Blaster to loosen the nuts and then an induction heating element to break the rust. I am planning on replacing the nuts with copper to make it easier, when I do my rebuild in the future. I am going to buy the barrel nuts but was hoping for clarification on the non-barrel flanged nuts. Are they 12mm x 6 or 13mm x 6? Any tips on replacing the exhaust gaskets, should I use the fiber/cloth with metal or solid metal instead? Thanks, Kevin |

The nuts need to be heated cherry red
I believe the studs are 8mm The factory used gaskets that are a metal fiber sandwich |

The thick 84-89 carrera gaskets are the best IMHO.
