'73 front and rear turn signal seals
I am planning on replacing the brittle ones. Is the rubber glue absolutely necessary when installing new ones? Or will it be sufficient if they are seated properly and pressed tightly by the lens?
Thanks, dave. |

I don't know about the '73, but on my '79 the rears do not require any goo, as the seal has a channel. It does take patience though...

The '73 won't need any adhesive. I just replaced one of mine and the old one was not glued, but Nostatic is definately right about the patience part.

The black 3M weatherstripping adhesive is the preferred method of retaining those seals. Factory seals were definitely glued in place! Rears are a bit easier ... but, I don't think the front '73 seals will ever fit properly unless glued.
