Missing toolkit from 3.2, replacement options?
My 3.2 is missing the tire compressor and the original toolkit. While i'd love to have the original equipment, those mediocre toolkits are going for more than I'm wiklling to spend. My car is not a concourse or collector grade car, but would be nice to have.
Has anyone replaced it with a good, reasonably priced solution? |

Our host sells the Porsche factory toolkit for $544. If that's too much to spend, if you do any of your own work (IMO) the 2 tools that you must have are the spark plug tool and the fan pulley tool.
For a compressor I use the Dewalt portable inflator that uses the 20V batteries. I got a flat tire in Elkhart Lake during Summer Vintage and was able to use this inflator to re-inflate the tire multiple times so I could drive to where I needed to get to repair the tire (had a nail in it). It's the Dewalt DCC020I. Saved my bacon. Paid for itself in one usage. Now I bring it with me whenever I go on a trip in ANY car.

Yeah, you need those two tools. Keep in mind you also need the wrench that fits into the end of the spark plug tool. You can find both of those tools used for a lot less here on Buy & Sell.
Then for the rest, think about what would be handy:
You probably don't need all that around town, but I would want this stuff for a road trip. Also, keep an eye on Buy & Sell. You should be able to find an original factory tool kit for $400-$600. Just be careful and patient. Many of them are offered as complete, but they are often missing tools. This is a complete Carrera kit. If you have a 1988-1989, there are some additional tools for the power seats: 1984-1987 Tool Kit Mark

Porsche sells a brand new set of tools. I have seen a new set and the wrenches all look like rejects from the bargain bin tool crib at Harbor Freight. Very low quality tools at Porsche prices.

I have this mint sent that was bought brand new from Porsche and never used. All tools are in perfect condition.
If you are interested, I'll let it go for $385 and I'll pay for the shipping.
