Taking into account that I left my phone number for him a few weeks ago and have not heard back let's me know that he's not interested and since I've sort of lost interest based on all that has been written here, guessing this is simply going to rust to the ground.

I need to concentrate on other things before worrying about what seems to be a "lost case" of a vehicle. Thank you all for your replies!!

So much navel gazing ... it is a given 911's and cheap do not get along.

Maybe this will get the OP's juices flowing ...

Noted.

But that 930 could very well be an open canvas to a makeover.

Man that is right up my alley. If it were closer it would be something I would pursue

If this was a 914, people would say it is rust-free. Not sure what year this is but Hagerty values a 1986 930 in good condition at $120,000. That's a big upside for a 930 in need of some work. Plus the car is a blast to drive.

This car would definitely be worth looking further into the rust before walking away.

I agree. At least get a price from them. Might be worth it just to buy it and flip it to someone in North America who has tools and is a glutton for punishment. Like me. :P

Not one thing in those pictures concerns me. But I'd love a look at the floors, package tray, smugglers box...

Long time subscriber to your channel!

I'll go back to where this 930 is parked in the next week and try to get a hold of the owner again. If/when I get a hold of him, will report back to the people who have DM'd me about it. I need to focus on finding a source of income before I go on a spending spree

Well Gus,
That’s not an easy restoration. The problem is that most of the rust is on double panels. For instance, the hood has a “skin” that is wrapped around the inner frame. You have to get to the rust on that inner frame, which means pulling back the outer panel and repairing or cutting out the rust on both pieces. It’s a lot of skill and work.
Hope that makes sense.
And as far as the wheels….thats not rust. They are aluminum and aluminum doesn’t rust. It’s a corrosion called electrolysis. When you sand off the paint, you will find a white powder that is the corrosion of the aluminum. Really typical around salt air.
I all comes down to dollars and sense.
Are they offering it a a fair price?
Mark
