Carbon Copy RS clone

I 'm surprised that no one has made a thread on this yet so I will.

The light weight carbon fiber RS clone made by Mr. B in Quebec, decribed in Excellence, October 2003, p. 94.

One issue is how it compares to Jim Calzia's car, which Excellence decribed in the May 2001 Excellence. It looks like they took some different routes to wt. savings.

Does anyone else recall any other examples in Excellence attempts by privateers or shops to make ultimate light weight fast(er) 911s?

Not that it it matters a whole lot but if you'd care for more info about it, the guy in Denver who bought the Excellence carbon car is posting about it on the Rennlist board. Some good pictures too.

Isn't that the one that the new owner has been discussing over on Rennlist?

Any "ballpark" figure on what that ended up costing? I always like to know so it quickly changes my mind to do the same.

Thanks -- I didnt notice it in my quick scan of the Rennlist digest. Anybody remember his name or other keywords for a search?

Also, I didn't notice the actual wt. stated in the article. Am I justlosing brain cells or did they not say anything than 400 lbs. less than a RS (and was that less than a lightwt. or 400 less than a touring RS??).

thx Sean -- that car is really something -- a bargain at $50,000.

If someone combined his techniques with Jim Calzia's techniques I'd bet another 100 or maybe 200 lbs could be removed from a 911...
