what have you done here with that new engine bay sound pad? |
Google “Classic VW Bugs” and you’ll see a guy who makes them. Much nicer looking in my opinion than the oem one.
Sent my wheels off to get refinished. Doing the rsr colorway with a slightly darker silver and polished lip edge. Snapped some progress photos. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755053477.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755053477.jpg Also ordered some custom made floor mats for my navy interior. German wool square weave with leather trim. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755053668.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755053668.jpg |
Love the dark silver. Is it matte, too?

Decided to refresh my rear rail light lenses. The new ones make a big difference. No more scratching, faded black trim, or sun faded color loss. Here’s a before and after. Mhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755279702.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755279702.jpg |
Nice rug under your car. I hope it doesn't leak oil!
|
Yo, jwolfe!! I like your thread and your car! But did ya know that's a handwoven "American Sarouk" Persian carpet under your engine? Probably C.1945-1950, they do fetch money at auctions. And......they surely don't make them like that anymore! I inherited 2 of those from my grandparents/parents. They are not disposable, like the machine-made ones are. Just a tip......

I leave a piece of cardboard under the engine bay if any leaks appear so the carpet is protected enough. I snagged it from an estate sale, thanks for the info.
Wheels are almost ready to be mounted. Should change the whole look of the car. Also throwing on some new lug nuts to bring it all together. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755724118.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755724118.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1755724118.jpg |
I’ve been enjoying the car finally so I took a little break from posting. Here she is all together and back on the ground with the newly finished wheels. Couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.

Your 944 was awesome and the 911 is even better!!!

I’ve been enjoying the car, taking it out every week to an event or cc of some sort. It’s been a blast. Also got a full detail/paint correction to really reduce swirling.
