				1987 911 Blinkers not working

Servicing my car, and pulling it out of winter hybernation, and while doing my inspection of vehicle operations, noticed my driver headlight was out, blinkers both left and right dont work, and my driver rear running light is out.

I replaced all appropriate fuses and the headlight is fixed, but my blinkers and rear driver running light is still inop. I noticed too- that when i actuate the indicator arm the arrows on my cluster dont do angthing either. Im sure this is a simple issue, but im embarrassed to say that im stumped. Mainly regarding the blinker issue. |

Mine is a 72 so may not apply but cleaning the turn signal relay contacts fixed my issues.

Behind the gauge cluster. You can reach it from the frunk or by pulling the 2 left most gauges. There are likely to be 2 or 3 relays back there. On my car it is the one closest to the front of the car.

The fuse block has multiple sectors also.

Just some background reading, some of this info might prove helpful, even though your car is a later year.

That’s a lot of electrical malfunction for just sitting over winter.

How did the inspection for rodent habitation go? The battery side when using a battery tender makes a warm cubby for winter. Even w/o a tender mice are going to chew. |

			1. test your hazards. Do they work? Its the same blinker unit, just getting power a different way

	2. If you use the turn signals w/o a key in, do the indicator lights on that side come on (and stay on with the switch) 3. Obv check the fuses and look for any mousery of the wires. They like the area back toward the rear of the frunk ime. even if they dont chew them up, they pee on connectors and stuff goes bad. * if hazards dont work, it probably is the flasher unit. * testing the turn signals with the ignition off gives you a decent view of the health of half of your indicator switch. |

Per this thread, here are a couple more areas to check. Doesn’t appear to be the same problem, but perhaps it will aid in your discovery process…

Turn signals inoperable, but hazards & L/R independent parking lights work
