Numeric Shifter - Play while in gear

So I've had a Numeric shifter installed for about a year now and it's been great. However, after I pulled the car out of storage I noticed an issue.

It's self-centering, and when I put it in first, the shifter still has tons of side to side motion in it, to the point where I have to pull it to the left to shift down into second, and when I push up into third I barely have to move to the right.

Is this something in the shifter or in the shift coupling? Maybe the coupling slipped over the winter?

Check that your shift coupler (behind the seats) isn’t loose. Happens a lot — there is another thread from this week where someone’s coupler disconnected itself :-)

I’ve not had issues with my NR shifter (been running it for almost two years). Some slip in the clamp will allow the shift rod on the shifter side to rotate without engaging the actual rod on the trans side.

Pop the cover, use 2x 13mm wrenches to adjust, mark the coupler with a paint pen once you’ve adjusted it (if needed).
