Front strut upgrade ??

Currently, I have green strut housings and green inserts with M-calipers. That would point towards Bilstein, right?. Can I just get Bilstein S-struts and keep my existing inserts? If I have to get an entire strut assembly would you go with Boge, Koni, Bilstein, or Bilstein sport?

The car is intended to do some track events in the near future. I am also planning to go to 22mm front torsion bars and a Carrera sway bar.

Ingo

Keep in mind that the 3" brake mounting ears are a poor starting point for any performance use.

I would get a full Bilstein strut(turbo is prefered but cause it will include the HD inserts) both 911 and 930 wil have the same 3.5" ears.

Even better is the Bilstein RSRS struts with axle raised 19mm.

SRP is now making a strut or spindle mod or something.

Also, the Carrera front end is just a tad lighter as it has the Al crosspiece. I would do the whole front end rather than just 2 struts.

I agree that the SRP double adjustable remote reservoir or Moton or JRZ equivalents are the best and I would love to have them, along w/ their wonderful sway bars but it is difficult to justify their ~$1000/ea price tag.

The complete 930 Bilstein strut is ~$430 and the complete RSR raised spindle is ~$560

There was a great article on the SRP ve Bilstein in the Aug. 2003 issue of "Excellence"

The sway bars are so pretty that some would buy them just to hang them on the wall.

Soon, we'll be able to buy wrecked cars with all this equipment on them for pretty cheap....
