Color Tag on Tool Kit? What does it mean?

Hi All,

A little assistance please. What does the color tag that is stapled on the outside of the tool kit mean. I have seen kits with red, green, etc. tags on the front?

Any one know what the color represents?

To be honest I´ve only seen black ones and have never noticed a Coloured Tag.
Do you have a pic as I´m curious as well?

Here are two pics. One has a red tag and one has a yellow tag. My kit I think has a green tag.

I had always assumed it was to distinguish between the bags of the different models/trims, i.e. SC/Carrera/Turbo or 911/944/968, etc.

It seems like I asked this question in the past with no really clear answer. My tag's yellow on a brown toolbag for my '82 SC and I have no idea what color it is on the black toolbag for my '83 SC. I think the garbage bag for putting a flat tire in was stapled with that tag, too.

In any case, our cars aren't that old that we shouldn't know the purpose or meaning of some of these things.

While we're at it, what was exact location and mounting of the toolbag in the front boot when the car was delivered? Where did it reside and how was it organized?

My 84 Carrera came with a yellow tag on the black tool roll. I always kind of wondered what that meant also.

A pattern is emeging here.....wonder if the color tag represents a specific "market" ( Euro / USA/ ROW) and different tool and accessories contents therefore for each market ????

Good question. I have always wondered about that myself. I was thinking it also had to do with model but not sure.

Checked my '83 cabriolet's toolbag last night. It's black with a yellow tag.

Somewhere someplace I heard the tag matches the color of the screw driver handle inside the kit. Maybe this thread can confirm or deny what I heard.

Mine is missing the screw driver handle and bits (anyone got a green handle set of drivers?)

Pretty sure I had an unmolested tool bag...yellow tab with black handle ( removable handle) screwdrivers.
