More ways to pi$$ off the whine and cheese crowd.....

OK....the mid engine 914 headers did not work....they leaked, ran too low, I smacked them on a speed bump......

So.....I got a VW bus motor that had a Type IV engine it.....stole/borrowed the heat exchangers......busted out my trusty sawzall and got rid of the pesky tin covers and threw them on.....

Then I got to looking at it.....twin SUPERTRAPPS out the back....whataya tink?

Damn, Mike! I loved that old exhaust setup. Especially before you bent the muffler. It looked awesome sticking straight out.

Does it sound better or worse than before?

Much more subtle.
It seems that if you want to piss-off the wine &cheesers, you need to make them laugh.
The 914 badge is a good start, but. . .

. . .don't you "know people" that can get this done?

Mike,
They look good to me but did you put them on with wing nuts just in case?

Mike, they make headers (j pipes) for the type4 motor, but you can probably just have a muffler shop cut off the flanges that attach to the heads and weld up a complete exaust system from there for cheap.

Mike, you are a sick, twisted individual.

Any way you can retrofit a stinger onto that? Or how about some shotguns? I seem to recall having those on my dad's dune buggy...

And while you're at it, mount an external oil cooler on the rear of the roof.

Shouldn't be that hard, we can make one out of wood or foam or something and then make a mold, fiberglass isn't tough to work with.
Of course it would be easier to buy one.....

mike, that setup is going to sound tits. The twin supertrapps will look nice pointing straight back, might I suggest you angle them up slightly to give the car an even more serious hot rod feel.
