Is the Ignitor II suitable as an alternative for the standard Ignitor?
http://www.pertronix.com/ignition/ignitorII/index.htm It claims to offer more 'power', but will this translate into a better system when combined with an MSD 6AL in my '76 Carrera 3.0? Al G |

The pertronix system was first used to replace the point on early dizzy. It is only a switch that opens and close like the point it replaces. Maybe replacing the coil with a more powerful coil would offer more power, but the pertronix by itself does not offer "more power", not unless you want to take into consideration point gap degradation which will reduce the power output of the engine. So a pertronix system will not offer more power, but maintain the power vs points.

Hey Ruf: My evaluation as well but I wondered if anyone had looked at or tried an Ignitor II over an Ignitor I.
