"misguided VC firm looking for something completely different"
Don't tell me they were looking for the body parts of large aquatic birds? Maybe for illegal trade in sex enhancement drugs, like bear gall bladders? Maybe it's time to explain the story of the mascot? Or is that the top secret new book? Also, is it a white pelican or a brown pelican -- looks to be the former. |

Hmmm.. as I recall, the white pelicans cooperate to herd fish, unlike the brown ones... there must be a message there somewhere....

The joke was my way of saying, I want to know the Pelican name significance, as well. (joke adapted from the Simpsons.)

I'm not suprised they sold. Last time I was there it seemed their primary business was Mercedes parts followed by 4x4 and lastly Porsche.
They had their hayday in the 80's when people were big into modifing SC's and Carreras. i.e. Turbo look accesories, flat nose, etc. The big aftermarket these days are for the rice-burners. Maybe the future will bring a good aftermarket for the Boxters as there prices fall making them more affordable to the aftermarket crowd. They were atleast made in the numbers that can afford a good market.
