Mike,

I recently boght a used Abarth muffler for my 911. It was made in 1969, little used and still in excellent condition. I bought it on Ebay, from a place in southern CA, can't recall the name. I subsequently met the seller at the Monterey R-Gruppe gathering. He is a Porsche shop owner and had it on his shelf for years after the original customer asked him to remove it as his 911S no longer sounded like a Porsche.!
I blasted it and replainted it, I reckon it sounds cool and certainly I am the only person I know who has one!

My point being:
What you want is very rare (these days), be prepared to pay what others would say is too much and be prepared to buy a used one.
I have another friend, who reads this forum, he had one on his VW's he took from Beetle to Beetle for 16 years and it never wore out, so they are well made and buying a used one is not the liability it might seem.
I would search on the net for anything especially in Europe. Italy, Spain, Southern France all have weather good enough to keep an Abarth muffler in good shape.

Regards

Hayden

Hayden, If my memory serves me correctly, you got your muffler on eBay about 9 months ago? And paid $200.00. I was
watching the auction but forgot about the ending date, too busy to remember this stuff. I was going to bid $300-$400.
Your'e right. These are extremely rare and highly sought after.
Nice find!

Two Oh,

Almost correct, It was Jan '03 and my Paypal account shows the total as $368, of which I am guessing about $35 or $40 was shipping.
I was willing to pay $500, so........ I was pretty determined.
Extra cool, I bought an Abarth Steering wheel, which is similar pattern to the Prototipo I took off, now I sport the Scorpion on the steering wheel and under the rear bumper.

Regards

Hayden

Mike Z,

Joe Ruiz, AKA Mr Okrasa in SoCal advertises T1 motors with "Abarth style" mufflers. (and other cool stuff)
He might know how or where to get one for your outlaw.
I saw some N.O.S. Abarth style mufflers for T1 motors, that maybe you could adapt, trouble is they were for 36 horsers, like the photo you show, not sure how that would go with your lager motor.

Regards

Hayden
